So Shine
This message explores Jesus' teaching that believers are "the light of the world" and the imperative to let that light shine. The pastor emphasizes that while Jesus was the light during His earthly ministry, He has now commissioned His followers collectively to be the light in the world. Light makes the unseen seen and the unknown known, providing hope and direction. Christians are called to shine through three primary ways: displaying the character of Christ (fruit of the Spirit), exemplifying the conduct of Christ (the Beatitudes), and sharing the conversation of Christ (the gospel message). The message stresses that believers must shine authentically according to how God uniquely designed them, not as copycats of others. Shining should happen corporately as a church body, individually in our homes, and publicly wherever God has planted us. The ultimate purpose of letting our light shine is not to bring glory to ourselves but to point others to Christ, so they will glorify our Father in heaven.
