A Promise Kept

"When Jesus promises, He delivers!"

A Testimony for Encouragement ... November 29, 2020

I am here to give thanks to God and to let you know how good God has been to me.

I was diagnosed in late August with bilateral breast cancer stage 0-1. I did my research and acted quickly. I called on my Turning Point Family for prayers; and on Septembers 11th, I had surgery. The morning of surgery, Pastor Harvey & First Lady showed up at the hospital. It was still dark and with all the COVID-19 restrictions, they prayed with me. I knew then that I was going to be ok. You see with the Harveys, this was not their first rodeo. As long as Pastor Harvey has the address, he will be present. He was there for my sister Carmen and for my husband. I really do love and appreciate them.

While in the Pre-Op area, the surgeon came by, then the plastic surgeon, followed by the Anesthesiologist. The nurses kept checking with me because they all ordered medication to keep me calm. That morning, I had NO FEAR. You see, I had Jesus with me. He said He will never leave me or forsake me; so, I held on to His promise. You know when Jesus promises, He delivers. I was sent home the following morning with no pain; just feeling stiff and praising God for keeping me safe.

You see, I had Jesus with me. He said He will never leave me or forsake me; so, I held on to His promise. You know when Jesus promises, He delivers.

You see I could not use my arms. When you have done everything for yourself most of your life, then suddenly become so dependent, it is difficult. My Turning Point family came through for me. Today, I want to say thank you for feeding me, telephone calls, cards of encouragement, sewing the only tops I was able to wear, [and] praying for me. In whatever way you contributed towards my recovery, I will always thank God for placing you in my life; I am very fortunate and grateful. I have gone through so much in a very short time, only because God kept me. I have no control over my life. These days, I put GOD first; everything else can wait.
We all have storms in our lives, but storms pass—making us better individuals.
May God richly bless all of you.

Thank you,

Sis. Cheryl Harry
